The series developed from our first Urban Tails pilot episode “Funky Foxes” made for the RTÉ short scheme in 2016.
The series concept was launched at Cartoon Forum and was nominated for BEST PILOT at Cartoons on the Bay. Urban Tails’ second pilot “Mista C-Lion” was launched at MIP 2017 in partnership with Screen Ireland. Both pilots can be seen below.
The animated misadventures of Lynn Johnston's acclaimed comic strip family. In 2000, Funbag Animation, based in Ottawa, created an animated "For Better or for Worse" series for Teletoon, which aired from November 5, 2000, to December 16, 2001. The show, introduced by Lynn Johnston, explored three storylines from different periods of the comic strip: the mid-1980s, early 1990s, and late 1990s.
Lady Lovely Locks and the Pixietails is a character property created by American Greetings Corporation in the mid-1980s. The characters were licensed for a toyline by Mattel, and for a syndicated animated television series by DiC in 1987. However, only 20 episodes were produced in all.

Wacky hijinks ensue when the girls are tested not on their math and science skills, but on their ability to complete challenges inside (literally!) classic SEGA video games. Can they fight their way through the blocky polygons of Virtua Fighter? Can their dance moves get them high enough ratings in Space Channel 5? And that isn't all! More challenges await on the road to gaining 100 medals in order to graduate, but the Sega Hard Girls won't let something like absurdity keep them down!
Miki loses her mysterious bell-shaped object, that her school friend picks up. As they return home by bus, inexplicably the brakes fail, the bus rolls into a long dark tunnel, transporting the two girls into another world. As Miki awakens, she sees wolf-faced warriors abduct her friend — apparently to kidnap the girl with the bell, but taking the wrong girl. Miki tries to follow the strange monsters, to save her friend, but fails — trapped in a world of monsters and madmen, who plot the downfall of Earth.
The only power that can possibly save her (and the world) is that of the mysterious Mask of Zeguy. Miki must embark on a life-threatening quest for this talisman, with the villains in hot pursuit!
To follow in his missing friend Masato's footsteps, Ryo joined the vehicle company Yaesu. Ryo became involved with the Makuhari test course that Masato was also a part of. The leader, Gray Gear, told Ryo, "If you want to know about Masato, come to the test course late at night and ride the new machine."
When Ryo got in the new machine, the Vector Versus, and rode it around the course, he was able to exceed 300 kilometers per hour and suddenly warped into a mysterious space!
