By the will of fate, the twin sisters Sonya and Alisa were separated and grew up in different countries: in the capital of Russia - Sonya, and in Turkey - Alisa. A chance meeting turns their destinies upside down: unexpectedly, each of the sisters fits the other's life. Sonya loses her memory as a result of an accident, and Alisa, having fallen in love with her sister's husband, begins to consciously play someone else's role. Sonya was never able to love another husband, but she sincerely became attached to her sister's son, considering him her own. More and more of the twins' lives are getting confused.

It was written by Mahmood Jamal and Barry Simmer and centred around the lives of three Asian families living in Birmingham. It was produced by Zia Mohyeddin, directed by Henry Foster and Faris Kermani, and first appeared on screen on 30 June 1991.
The series was shown in the Midlands region on ITV and nationally on Channel 4.
