    Call Sign «Artist»

    2024

Famous Ukrainian actor Oleksandr Pecherytsia, who was supposed to go on tour to Lviv on February 24 with the play “Stolen Happiness”, instead took up arms and went to defend Ukraine in the Kharkiv region. During his rotations and vacations, Oleksandr played in the theater, gave concerts, studied to become a military psychologist, and tried to communicate with his young son as often as possible. Over time, he began to feel a certain duality in his life: the world of war and the world of art, to which he equally belonged, could not coexist in one person; an empty house and short moments with his son only reminded him of the happy times when his family was close; uncertainty about the future of his career, family, country and the inability to influence anything made Oleksandr think about the question “what is the purpose of life for me now?”

  • Judy Garland: By Myself

    2004

    Judy Garland: By Myself

    2004

    star 8.3
As Hollywood biographies go, Judy Garland's story is one of the saddest success stories you'll ever hear. The sanitized studio version of her life presented a smiling kid with the big voice, who, alongside Mickey Rooney, just wanted to put on a show. But drugs, overwork, even psychological abuse at the hands of the studio is now part of the Garland legend. But despite the number of Garland books and documentaries, one account has always been missing -- Garland herself never managed to write a memoir. She did make several attempts at an autobiography, often recording stories on a tape recorder. Judy Garland: By Myself (2004), finally fills in the blanks - using Judy's personal recordings to tell the story in her own words.

    Lost Continent of the Pacific

    2011

    star 6
Legends of lost continents and civilizations have captivated people throughout time. Philosophers and astronomers like Aristotle and Ptolemy believed that an unknown continent existed in the Southern hemisphere. In the Age of Discovery, renowned explorers like Magellan and Cook searched the Pacific Ocean in vain for a mysterious land they called "Terra Incognita." To this day, ancestral legends throughout Polynesia speak of a lost homeland and a great civilization that disappeared into the sea. Modern science disputes the existence of unknown continents and often dismisses creation myths. But on Rapa Nui, or Easter Island, elders fiercely believe they originate from a continent that sank following a catastrophic upheaval.
