    During a wonderful exhibition of horsemanship and cowboy skill. "Dud," the foreman of the Diamond S ranch, is handed a telegram summoning him to Chicago to claim a fortune left him by an uncle. There he falls in love and marries the stenographer in the office of his attorneys, after a year he tires of the monotony of the life he leads and wires for the entire outfit to come to Chicago and wake the town up. They carry out instructions elaborately much to the embarrassment of Mrs. "Bud." After they leave, "Bud" embraces his wife and to her great relief, whispers, "Never again."

    Jim "Tex" Wall, searching for the last of the three men who raped and killed his wife, joins a gang of cattle rustlers led by Hank Hays. Both Hays' outlaws and a rival gang headed by Heesman, have been hired as ranch hands by "Bull" Herrick, a cripple who owns a large cattle ranch and wants to get his large herd to market. He theorizes that the two gangs will be kept busy watching each other and neither will rustle his cattle. Helen has little faith in her brother's contrived plan, and hates and distrusts both groups. She begins to soften toward Jim, but abruptly changes when she sees a reward poster which says he has killed two men.

His friend Killian will not believe him but Haver, now a banker gives him a small loan and then beats him out of his claim. Many years pass before he comes home, now sixty-years-old, and this time, his wife and son open their home to him. But he vows to go prospecting come next spring.

Flaming Arrow, played by the young director, saves the child from the kidnapper and brings her back to her family. No better conclusion than smoking a peace pipe. Although filmed in the spring of 1912, the film had a theatrical release in December 1915.
